Western Regional Sales Representative

We are looking for a talented Seed Sales Representative for the Western region of the United States, with particular focus on California and Arizona. This is a full-time salaried position, based at our office in Hollister, California.

 

As a part of our growing sales team, you will play a critical role in driving market adoption and commercial success across grower and distributor channels. You will serve as a key link between customers, product development, and company leadership, helping to build demand through hands-on trial development, customer engagement, and strategic sales planning. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with growers and dealers, contribute directly to product advancement, and represent the company within the broader agricultural industry.

 

Responsibilities include developing and managing customer trials, forecasting demand and coordinating purchase schedules, and preparing sales and trial reports. You will have the opportunity to represent the company at national and international conferences and trade shows, conduct business travel as needed, and collaborate internationally with our global team.This position offers meaningful exposure to both commercial strategy and field-level execution at a defining inflection point for the company, with significant opportunity to help shape and expand our growth particularly in California and the broader Western US.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build demand at grower and distributor levels for the Western US sales region.
  • Develop trials independently and with product development team, in collaboration with growers and dealers.
  • Report on trials and sales to share risks and opportunities with leadership.
  • Gather sales forecasts from customers and create purchase schedules to reflect forecasts.
  • Create necessary documentation for customer orders.
  • Assist with office operations and inventory management as needed.
  • Continuously improve procedures for trial development and sales operations.
  • Plan and conduct business trips as needed.
  • Prepare and present an annual report summarizing trial and sales activities to the executive team.
  • Represent the company at national and international conferences and trade shows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years experience in seed sales, product development, or related.
  • A valid US driver’s license.
  • West Coast experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; proven ability to be self-directed.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively respond to direction and questions from managers, employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A flexible team player who develops trust and can work cross-functionally to drive results.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.

Compensation: $85,000-$125,000 (commensurate with experience), payable according to the Company’s standard payroll schedule and practices. The following benefits are also included:

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance, with 75% covered by the company.

Seed Production Assistant

We are looking for a Seed Production Assistant to support our seed production program in the US. This is a full-time, salaried position based in Hollister, CA with some work-related travel.

 

As the Seed Production Assistant, you will contribute to the foundational success of the company as a key part of seed production. You will have the opportunity to learn various aspects of seed production at a global company with over a century of history. You will work closely with the international seed production team and gain experience across several crop species.

 

This role reports to the Production Manager and General Manager. It includes assisting with production activities and documentation (i.e. conducting timely field visits and creating field reports), production research activities, in-house germination and seed quality evaluations, and maintenance of records, equipment and facilities. In addition, you will visit production fields to monitor progress and evaluate their performance. Occasional overnight trips will be required.

 

Responsibilities:

●      Conduct field visits and create field reports, travel as necessary to achieve goals with occasional overnight travel.

●      Assist in maintaining crop production and operations including transplant preparation, roguing, field scouting, harvest and post-harvest handling, cleaning and sorting.

●      Communicate clearly with production team and growers to continually improve seed productivity.

●      Maintain tools and equipment. Keep work area clean, tidy and organized.

●      Assist with in-house germination and seed quality evaluations.

●      Maintain organized records of activities.

●      Assist with inventory and receiving as needed.

●      Light computer work is expected, with extended hours as needed.

●      Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

●      2 years of college with relevant major (agriculture, biology, etc), or equivalent experience.

●      Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and GSuite, especially spreadsheets.

●      Systematic, organized working style.

●      Very strong ability to multi-task and balance projects at various stages simultaneously.

●      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

●      Proven ability to be self-directed and work independently.

●      Ability to work positively with a team.

●      Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

●      Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be able to handle physical work outdoors, in all weather conditions and temperatures.

 

Compensation: $50,000 (commensurate with experience), plus the following benefits:

●      Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

●      A generous PTO package and paid federal holidays.

●      A company vehicle for use in work-related travel.

●      401(k) matching contributions up to 4%.
